Who made this crazy website?

This site was made by me, Ryan Vettese. I am a professional content and interface developer who up until December 1st, 2003 worked at the Toronto office of Organic, a leading web development and marketing services firm. I worked there for over three and a half years, through the bubble and the downturn. It was most excellent fun. I decided recently that it was time to move on to something new, so I quit the job and am going to go traveling for a year. Initially, my plan was to make this site for me only to keep friends and family updated on what I've been doing. But as usual I have to take the simplest things and blow them way out of proportion. So now we have this web site that anyone can sign up to and start posting their photos and travelogues to share with their friends and family. I hope that everyone enjoys it.

All interface, design (I know it's not amazing, but it does the trick), asp, dhtml, javascript, database code was written by me except for the noted thank you's listed below.

I am hoping that this site will be able to support itself for the year that I am away. I will probably make the occasional tweak if something goes wrong, but hopefully it will be rock solid before I leave on December 15th.

I am also hoping to find small jobs (internet developement related) while I am on the road for the next year so get in touch with me if you need something or know someone in the following countries: India (Mumbai to Chenai), South East Asia, Australia or New Zealand. You may contact me through the form on this website.

Many thanks to:
Marc Carrafiello / Datex for donating the drive space and bandwith on spaz.com. Henry Chi for all the icons and the Ryan and Katherine illustration. You're an Illustrator God Chi. Ben Jones for various insights and code snippets (generateKey.asp, calendar.js). Lewis Moten for his vbscript Binary to Hex conversions. Jeremy Waite for his exif reader class/dll code which I converted to pure ASP. NASA for its Land Surface, Shallow Water, and Shaded Topography images from MODIS (If you want the high res 43,200 x 21,600 TIFFs message me and I'll hook you up).
